[Letter] 1845 Nov. 6, Natchez, Miss. : [to] Alexander Wright, Lowell, Mass. / [from] John Milnes.

Milnes thanks Wright for all that he taught him about textile milling. He writes that he is managing the Natchez Factory, and that the owner is trying to complete the machinery so that they can work 10 looms. He gives the prices charged for manufacturing linseys and cottons and asks Wright about various techniques used in Lowell. He describes the workers at the factory and notes that only four are white while 21 are Negroes. He also writes of a new weed killer he is going to try with the cotton crop and indicates that he finds cotton looms simple after learning to weave carpets by power.
